Dian served with the Fort Worth Police Department for 23 years and became the first female homicide detective in Fort Worth history, paving the way for others. She also participated in the Peer Support Group at FWPD.
When she retired in 2001, she volunteered with COPLINE, providing support to officers nationwide who need someone to talk to who understands the pressures of police work. Her friends and colleagues remember her as a great officer, co-worker, teacher, and friend.
She is survived by her sister Carolyn Leclaire (David), her nephew Kevin Leclaire (Jessica) and their children, and her niece Erin Laine (Daniel) and their children. Dian is also survived by her stepson Adam Wright (Jennifer) and their children.
Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5740 W. 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407, followed by interment next to her husband Howard Wright.
