Dennis Clay Pate

He proudly served in the Navy from 1974-1977. Then, he attended Texas Tech University where

he got his Bachelors and Masters in Agriculture Education. He taught high school ag science for

27 years at Roosevelt, Monterey, Ropes, and Wellman-Union starting in 1981.

After retiring, he continued to teach welding as an instructor at South Plains in the fall of 2007, then at Texas Tech in the Ag Ed Department from 2008 to 2020.

In addition to teaching, he enjoyed spending his time hunting with his sons and time boating and skiing on the lake with anyone that wanted to go.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Corlis Pate; Mother, Dorothy Pate; sister, Patti

Derington; and father-in-law, A.A. (Bus) Wimmer.

He is survived by father, Malcolm Pate; mother-in-law, Valeria Wimmer; brother and sister-in-law, Cary and Jan Pate; brother and sister-in-Law, Scot and Rhonda Pate; son and daughter-in-Law, Derrick and Leigha Pate and their kids Hagen and Colson; son and daughter-in-Law, Kyle and Mary Pate and their kids Zeke and Zoey; daughter and son-in-Law, Kasey and David Cooper and their Son, Carson; and Delsey Vance.
