Deborah Carothers Hanson, 62, of Lubbock, Texas took the hand of her savior on Tuesday January 21, 2014 and finished her race. The family will receive friends for sharing and remembering her life on Saturday January 25, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock from 2:00pm until 6:00 pm. Deborah was born on July 14, 1951 in Big Spring, Texas to the late R.O and Elizabeth June ( Fillman) Carothers. Deborah always had a sense of humor. Her favorite things were her loving grandchildren, and her dogs. Deborah’s loving personality made her always ready to rescue a new animal. She was a member of First Christian Church in Lubbock. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Stewart; children William P. Barden, Jr., Amanda Hanson Dietz; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 nephews; 1 niece; and numerous friends that meant the world to her.
