Cynthia McGee

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11 am in Resthaven Memorial Park, with a memorial service to follow at 1 pm at Highland Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 6-7 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Cynthia was born on August 11, 1924 in Plainview, Texas to Thomas Jefferson and Olga Augusta Struve. She married M.C. McGee on August 22, 1947 in Abernathy, Texas. She was formerly a long time member of Highland Baptist Church of Lubbock, and a current member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church of Bedford. Cynthia enjoyed reading and studying God’s word in scripture. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and crafts. Her pot scrubbers will be missed by many. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.

Cynthia leaves many loved ones including sons; Don McGee of Euless and Tim McGee of Houston; daughter Sherry Sanchez of Lewisville; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends that loved her much.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, parents, brother, Ed Struve and a sister Cecelia Harris.
