Clara Mae White, age 86, left this earth to enter her heavenly home on January 24, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and a friend to many. Her adoring grandchildren knew her as Nana. Clara was born September 23, 1932 in Kanawha, Texas to John Edward Brown and Mandy Pauline Brown.
Clara grew up in a small town spending her time with her family and friends. As a young girl, Clara would spend many hours working the farm picking cotton. She would also spend her time helping with her younger siblings at home. She was somewhat of a mother hen to those younger than her. After high school, Clara pursued a career in nursing. In 1956, Clara met the love her life on the night of Halloween in Lubbock Texas. They soon married on February 2, 1957 and started their life together. After marriage, Clara and Fred started a family and raised three beautiful children. Most of their married life was spent in Lubbock, Texas where they originally met that October night.
Clara was a beautiful soul and would always drop anything to help those around her. She always was willing to make sure that everyone around her was well taken care of. She knew her way around the kitchen and loved to cook for her family. Clara was a talented seamstress, and enjoyed teaching others to sew. Fishing was a favorite past time for Clara, she especially enjoyed being able to fish with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clara loved to spend as much time as she could with all of her children playing any type of games to entertain them.
Receiving Clara into her heavenly life are not only her parents, but beloved family, including brothers Pete Brown (Doris), Leroy Brown (Ann), BJ Brown (Lavern); sister, Thelma McCleskey (Don); brother-in-law, Bobby Brock; sisters-in-law, Judy Brown and Sharon White.
She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Fred White; children, Karen Cantrell, Vicki Runge (Key), Tim White (Geny); grandchildren, Ashley Muller (Chris), Jennifer Potter (Lance), Jessica Runge (Mark Gonzalez), Samantha White, Justin Runge (Tiffany Stone), Tyler Cantrell (Janessa), Josh White (Jessica), Caleb White; great-grandchildren Zoey Casares ,Brock Muller, Reagan Cantrell, Carson Potter, Brody Muller, Avery Potter; brothers, Edgar Brown and Ed Brown (Donna); sisters, Jean Brock and Linda Poarch (Lewis); brother-in-law, Mike White. Clara is also survived by numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
