Charlie Dean Woodfin left this world and entered his heavenly home on Friday, Oct. 25, 2014. Charlie was born on July 27, 1936, in Tahoka, Texas, to the late Verl and Bell Woodfin of Lynn County. He grew up in Slaton, Texas, and graduated from Slaton High school. He married Theresa Lewis on Nov. 16, 1957.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; their three children, Cyndi (Kim) Nelson, Mark (Margaret) Woodfin, and Paula (Scott) Nichols; and grandchildren, Eric and Trevor Nelson, Sam and Conor Woodfin, Maci, Maggie and McKinna Nichols. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Kitty).
Charlie owned and operated C.D. Woodfin Construction in Lubbock for the majority of his career. Upon retirement, Charlie enjoyed traveling and golf. The dearest things to his heart were God, family, and his church family.
Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Southcrest Baptist Church on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made in his name to: Southcrest Baptist Church-building fund, 3801 S Loop 289, Lubbock, TX 79423. Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
