Carolyn Kay Meier

Kay was born July 11, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas to Bert Klantchnek and Evelyn Bures.

She lived in Lubbock most of her life with stops in occupied Japan, Arkansas, Louisiana, and lived 17 years in San Antonio.

She was married to Arthur Meier for over 35 years until his death earlier this year.

She proudly served her country working for the Department of Defense for over 25 years and held the position of Defense Accounting Officer for Reese Air Force Base.

She was a member of Oak Island United Methodist Church in San Antonio, and loved serving with her church family.

She is survived by five sons, Michael Cox, and wife Lucy of Cibolo, TX, Wayne Cox of Odessa, TX, Corkey Meier of Clarksville, AR, Robert Thompson of Lubbock, TX, and Dennis Meier of Lubbock, TX; three daughters, Cheryl Beneworth, and husband Kirk of Ipswitch, UK, Pam Miller, and husband Gary of Helotes, TX, Doris Griggs of Russellville, AR; two sisters, Betty Richardson and husband Clyde of Lorenzo, TX, and Pepper Redding of Odessa, TX; and one brother, John Bures and wife Olga of Lubbock, TX; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13 at 4:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock with interment to be scheduled at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
