Funeral services will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Elder Kenny Venable – Minister of Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends are invited to come by Resthaven Funeral Home today after 2pm. Carolyn was born on September 22, 1933, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Ralph and Sybil (White) Wallace. She married the love of her life, Randall Handley on June 5, 1954 in Sweetwater.
Carolyn graduated from Brownwood High School in 1951 where she was the Lead Snare Drummer in the band. Prior to graduation, she was invited to study at Juilliard School of Music in New York City . She graduated from Texas Tech in 1976 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
Carolyn loved to entertain family and friends and was loved by everyone who knew her. She retired from Anderson Clayton and the Texas Employment Office.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Randall; sister & brother-in-law, Betty Jean and Frank Dibrell of Brownwood; granddaughter, Tyffani Handley; and son-in-law, Jack Sarin.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Joni Kay Sarin; sons, Ray Alan Handley and Timothy Randall Handley and wife Tina; grandchildren, Tia Handley, Raymond Randall Handley, II and Craig Grasso all of Lubbock; brother, Ralph Wallace and wife, Lynn, of Temple, Texas.
