Visitation will be at Resthaven Wednesday January 24, 2024, at 5pm to 7pm. A celebration of life will be held at Resthaven memorial on Thursday January 25, 2024, at 10am graveside to follow.
Carolyn Kaye Benson was born March 11, 1948, in Evening Shade, Arkansas to Ross and Thelma Jackson. Shortly after Carolyn was born the Jackson family moved to Lubbock, Tx. Carolyn attended Lubbock High School and graduated in 1966. After high school, she graduated from Draughon's business college. On February 14, 1969, Carolyn married the love of her life, Marlin Glenn Benson, in Lubbock, TX.
Carolyn had a career in medical administration at Methodist and Covenant hospital, she was a dedicated employee and had a passion for serving others. She was a devoted member of the First Methodist Church in Wolfforth, TX. Carolyn shared her faith as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Her spiritual guidance and warmth touched the lives of those she taught and inspired. Carolyn was a devote wife and mother. She had a passion for animals and loved the outdoors, especially mowing the lawn.
Carolyn was proceeded in death by her beloved parents, Ross and Thelma Jackson, her son Matthew Grant Benson, and brother in law's Walter Johnson and Richard Hudson.
She is survived by her cherished husband, Marlin Glenn Benson, her sons, Michael Benson and wife Whitney, Mark Benson and wife Tammey, and daughter Cara Benson. Carolyn is also survived by her sisters Sherron Johnson, Susan McAlexander and husband David,and brother Perry Jackson. Carolyn's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Cortney Benson, Matthew Garrett Benson, and Mason Benson.
The family would like to thank Calvert Hospice nursing staff for caring for her in her final days and the support of the Wolfforth Methodist church. Family has asked if donations to be made to Alzheimer's Association.
