Bruce A. Callender

Bruce graduated from the University of Denver in 1956 and received a bachelor's degree in business administration. He was married to Joan Mary Yack on March 18th, 1956. Bruce had a career in sales working for PPG. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and worked as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 26 plus years as well as serving in the United States Army for 2 years. Bruce enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events, singing in the church choir, and attending TTU sporting events. He and Joan had season tickets to TTU football games for 50 years. Bruce had a lifelong love of the many dogs that he raised and cared for over the years.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Joan Callender, his children, Pam Janak, Steven Callender and wife Debbie, Troy Callender and wife Melinda, David Callender and wife Donell; grandchildren Chase, Lauren, Tanner, Callie, Rachel, Alexandra, Cole, Caroline, William, Jackson; his brother, Roger Callender; as well as several great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, August 19th, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church memorial fund or to Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
