Bobby J. Jones

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Cooper Church of Christ in Woodrow. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm.

Bobby was born on February 22, 1933, in Lubbock County, to the late Robert Lee and Ethel (Harrison) Jones. He married Dorothy Rainey on November 4, 1955, in Lubbock. Bobby worked in the heating and air conditioning industry for 47 years for Armstrong Mechanical, Airtech, and Sinclair. He was also one of the founding members of Cooper Church of Christ and was an elder there for many years.

Bobby was preceded in death by two sisters: Naomi Dansbee and Mary Bell (Moe) Hoover.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years, Dorothy, of Lubbock; daughter, Kathy Talbott and husband David of Wolfforth; son, Jeff Jones and wife Lia of Midland; seven grandchildren: Kay’lea and Lillea Talbott of Wolfforth and Randie, Kristie, Lewis, Kyle, and Courtney Jones of Midland; five great grandchildren: Audrie, Parker, Landree, Tristan, and Catheryn; three brothers: Homer Jones and wife Jo of Lubbock, J. Frank Jones and wife Janelle of Wolfforth, and Connie Jones and wife Jill of Shorewood, Illinois; three sisters: Virginia Dansbee and husband Don of Lubbock, Dorothy Jean Keese of Wills Point, and Patsy Maxwell and husband Phil of Claremore, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Jerry Tallman Evangelist Ministry in care of Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock.
