Mr. Young worked for Coors Distributing Company for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Geraldine of Lubbock, a daughter, Toni Payne and two granddaughters, Cassie and Jennifer Payne of Lubbock. One sister, Lynda Kingsley of Nashville, Ten and a step-sister Linda Sherrod (David) of Lubbock, and several nieces and nephews
He is preceded in death by one son, Carl Kendrick Young.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 from 6:00 -8:00 Pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Aug 18, 2010, at 1:00 Pm at First Christian Church, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to First Christian Church, 2323 Broadway, Lubbock, Tx 79401.
