Billy "Boat Billy" Russell Sherrill

Billy R “Boat Billy” Sherrill, 68, passed away Tuesday April 26, 2016 in Lubbock. He was born June 19, 1948 in Littlefield, TX to Leon and Macca Sherrill. He graduated from Amherst High School. Billy married Brenda Gill July 8, 1989. He was the owner of Performance Marine for over 40 years. Billy served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War receiving the Purple Heart in that service.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda of Lubbock; children, Dustin Qualls and wife Sarah of Houston and Allison Qualls-Neumann and husband Reese of Dallas; brothers, Richard Sherrill and wife Pansy of Amherst, TX and Gary Sherrill and wife Dian of Littlefield; grandchildren, Carter Qualls, Kate Qualls, Anderson Newmann, Everett Newmann and Silas Newmann; and his beloved side kick, Macee Day.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM in Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, April 29 at 1 PM in Monterey Church of Christ.
