Betty married the love of her life, William “Mel” Pope on June 12, 1954 and together they had 5 boys. Her life revolved around taking care of and catering to her husband and children. As a mom of growing boys, she learned to feed her family well. She was a devoted member at Oakwood Methodist Church since 1972. She enjoyed word puzzles and was an avid Texas Tech fan.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband; and is survived by her sons: Bill (Suzy) Pope, Jim (Tamera) Pope, Ronnie (Dorothy) Pope, Kevin Pope, Brian Pope; grandchildren: Chandyl and Dalton Pruitt, Landry Pope, Sabra and Brian Myers, Braden Pope, Conner Pope, Jacob Carty; and great-grandchildren: Berklee, Bentlee, and Colt.
The family invites you to celebrate her life on Saturday, August 27, 2022 with a visitation beginning at 12:30pm at Resthaven Funeral Home and graveside service to follow at 2:00pm in Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty’s honor are appreciated to Oakwood Methodist Church and Traditions Hospice.
