Benita Martinez Garcia (BJ), 71, of Lubbock passed away Saturday January 20th at 10:31 a.m. She was born in San Benito, Texas, in April of 1946. She graduated from Lubbock High School. Benita married Alfonso (Al) R. Garcia, in August of 1966. She worked 8 years in banking and retired from AAFES after 21 years. Benita spent 28 years as a faithful military wife. She loved traveling. her granddaughters, and Sam (her little hero). She also loved flowers and hiking. Benita is predeceased by her parents Benito and Ramona Martinez and her brothers Joe and Fred. She is survived by her husband Alfonso, her sons Christian (Kenny) and Michael (Heike), her granddaughters Celina and Vivian, her sisters Vickie, Dominga, Lupie, Oraila, Susie & Curly Martinez.
