Barbara Gene Quinn Murphy “Nanny” of Lubbock, TX went home to her Heavenly Father June 5th, 2018. Barbara was born in Lynn County on the T-Bar Ranch March 19, 1934. She enjoyed spending time square dancing, painting, playing dominoes and working in the yard. Before retiring she was the office manager for Meals on Wheels and was also an active member of Southcrest Baptist Church.
Her memory will be cherished by her two sons, Steve Murphy and wife Sonya of Lubbock, Bill Murphy and wife Dawn of Lubbock, and her brother Ernest Quinn and wife Kaye of Lubbock. She had 3 grandchildren: Kris Murphy and wife Miranda of Lubbock, Micah Rosenberg and husband Mark of Lubbock and Tristan Murphy of Denver, Co. She also has 4 great grandchildren: Lane Murphy, Maci Murphy, Liam and Kallyn Rosenberg.
She was preceded in death by her father Woodrow Quinn and her mother Lorenza Isom.
Nanny loved her family unconditionally and her loving smile and personality were unmissable. She was a strong, courageous Christian and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord God with every part of her being.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6pm-8pm Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Lubbock. The graveside service is scheduled for Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10am at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Lubbock Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79411.
