Ava Nell Melvin of Denton, TX passed away on March 29, 2023. She was born In Lubbock, TX on January 30, 1942 to the late William Thomas Chastain and Edith Eubanks.

On August 24, 1959 Ava married the love of her life, Wesley Melvin. Together they had 4 children: Teresa, Rick, John and Rhonda.

Ava owned and operated her own daycare and house cleaning business for many years.

She is survived by her children: Teresa Kitchens and husband Mike Of Willow Park, TX, Rick and wife Jeaninne Melvin of Valley View, TX, John and wife Jody Melvin of Shawnee, KS, and Rhonda and husband Benji Stephenson of Belton, TX; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family invites you to honor and celebrate her life with a visitation Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 830am-10am at Resthaven Funeral Home. Celebration of life service will follow at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations in Ava’s honor may be made to the Dementia and Alzheimer’s Foundation.
