Annie Rachels

Annie Rachels, 81, passed away Sunday July 22, 2012 at her home in Lubbock. She was born June 30, 1931 in Munday Texas to George and Johnie Burleson. Annie married Hoytt Rachels May 23, 1956 in Lubbock. She was a devoted wife, mother and loved her grandchildren.

Annie is survived by her husband Hoytt of Lubbock; 4 daughters, Carolyn Sue Rachels of Mocksville, NC, Kay Gray and Peggy Bryant both of Lubbock and Nancy Keith of Darrohzett, TX; 3 sons, Clifton Brown of Lubbock, Hoytt Rachels III of Shallowater, TX and Gerald Dean Rachels of Salisbury, NC; 24 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 children, Collette Shannon, Janet Rios and Sonny Rachels.

Visitation will be today, Tuesday, from 6 to 8 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday July 25, 2012 at 1 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, Woodrow, TX.
