William Alton Henry, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2016. Alton was born October 6, 1923 to Searight and Alpha Henry in Lubbock. He married Marcile Carrol on January 30, 1944. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a carpenter and owned a cabinet shop for many years in Lubbock.
Alton was a dedicated Christian and most recently attended MacKenzie Terrace Baptist church. He was a very loving husband and father. He enjoyed working in his church, watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and sharing his life with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Paul and wife, Marcile. Alton is survived by his daughter, Sandra and husband, Jimmy Boyd, of Amarillo; Son Rex and wife, Barbara Henry, of Round Rock; grandchildren Lisa and husband, Mark Amyette, of Amarillo, Jimmy and wife, Kim Boyd, of Stinnett, Steven and wife, Stormy Boyd, of Kerrville, Amy and husband, John Bennett, of Amarillo, Clint and wife, Christin Eschberger, of Round Rock; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
