Alger Mayfield “Al” Farley, age 95, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Lubbock. He was born Monday January 22, 1923 in Center Point Arkansas to Roy Alger Farley & Ida Pauline (Mayfield) Farley.

Al was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Tapp on October 31, 1969 in Lubbock.

She preceded him in death on August 21, 2017. His sister, Edna Laney also preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory are 3 children, Larry Farley and wife Marion and Kristi Howell and husband Kelly and Judy McFarland. 7 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, and several bonus grandchildren.

Al was a veteran and served his country in world war II in the Army Air Corps. He loved to tinker in his shop and build things. Al was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and was most recently a member of Monterey Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday,May 22, 2018 from 5-7 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
