Dan grew up in Oakland Ca. In 1957 he joined the Navy and served on the USS John S. McCain DL-3 until 1963. He continued in the Military and later transferred to San Francisco Reserve Presidio of San Francisco.
Around 1964 Dan started work making awnings for homes.
In Dan’s younger years he was an Artist of sculptures made in the ocean beach walls. When you looked up at the beach wall there were 3 dimensional engraved pictures to wow the eyes.
Dan worked as a carpenter & designed and built his own homes, making them out of Heart of Redwood. From the same hands his Great-Great-Great Grandfather milled and used to make ships up in Canada.
Dan was one of the lucky ones to survive the Valley Fire at his residence in Lake County.
Dan enjoyed music, food, building, gardening and poetry, and of course camping and fishing all over the world! Dad is going to be missed deeply by this family and Teddy too.
Dan would say “there’s that basket full of goodies and that damn bear and laugh.”
Dan is survived by his Daughter Victoria. He is preceded in eternal rest by his parents Phillip and Helen Cameron, Wife Lorraine, Son Jim and Brother Paul.
