Ronald Morris died July 21, 2018 of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. His father, Sidney Clifford Morris was a decorated United States Coast Guard Seaman who married Adah Mildred Worden in Chicago. Together they gave us Ronald Clifford Morris on June 9, 1939. He had two siblings, Richard Harold and Shirley Ann. At the age of 17 Ron met Barbara Lee Schmidt, his “lovely lady”, while attending the Methodist church in Hazel Crest, Illinois. At ages 21 and 17, Ron and Barbara committed their lives to one another. They had two sons. Kevin Blake (09/01/1963-08/28/1999) brought them four beautiful grandchildren; Rosa, Amber, Justina and Kayla. Ronald Scott, was born 08/1968 and testifies to this day of the overwhelming and unfaltering love and dedication Mr. Morris founded his family upon. This included his beloved extended family as well. Ron became a professional firefighter in Harvey, Il. achieving the rank of Fire Engineer. He was a decorated serviceman and received a commendation for heroism, by saving the life of a woman in a house fire. Ron lost his wife and oldest son in 1998 and 1999 and embarked on a new life path of becoming a caring and active member of various support groups in the Loveland and Fort Collins area. Throughout his life, Ron was known for his generosity, humor and love of humanity. One trait stands very clear, that to know him was to have known kindness, which is no small matter because, as it is said, kindness is a safety net for the soul.
