Richard William “Bear” Korinek, 76, of Loveland, “Graduated” to heaven Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Born in Denver, he was a son of the late William James Korinek and Lucile Korinek. He graduated from North High School in 1966 and furthered his education at Community College of Denver as a Draftsman. While attending North High School, Richard met Marcia Lea Parker and they were married on August 9, 1969.
Rich started working at Kaiser Permanente in January 1992 and retired as a Pharmacy Technician in February 2010. While Rich and Marcia’s children were in elementary school, he welcomed the opportunity to join a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico. The trip was a blessing as he helped paint and refurbish a local orphanage. Rich enjoyed many hours on the golf course with family and friends and he was an avid fisherman. He loved spending time on the streams and lakes always hoping to land a “big one”. His quirky sense of humor was loved by many, misunderstood by some, but always intact.
Surviving is his wife (Marcia Lea Korinek) of 54 + years; daughter and son-in-law, Heather Joy and Bryan Edward Ploch of TX; brothers, Daniel (Antoinette) Korinek of CO and Ronald (Fran) Korinek of CO; sister-in-law, Kathleen Pate of CO and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Matthew Richard Korinek; his sister, JoAnne Korinek; brother, John Korinek and sister-in-law Diane Korinek.
A Celebration of Life service for Richard will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, August 2, 2024, at Church Ranch Event Center (10200 Wadsworth Blvd, Broomfield, CO 80021). Potluck reception to follow.
