Reed Levi Yount

Reed Levi Yount, 26, and his wife Krysta, 28, died after a fatal ATV accident on Saturday, July 9, in the Guanella Pass area of Colorado's central mountains. Reed left this world doing what he loved with the person he loved most. Having found each other just three years ago, Reed and Krysta quickly became a dynamic couple that we all admired and enjoyed immensely. Their kindness and generosity blessed everyone who knew them.

They were married February 17, 2022, at sunset on the High Roller Observation Wheel, 550 feet in the air in Las Vegas. Their wedding was as unique as they were and we were thrilled to celebrate their union with them. Married only five months, we knew the future was bright for these two but it was snuffed out too soon.

Reed was born to Michael and Christine Yount on February 12, 1996. He was their adored and much wanted third child in the family. He quickly became his sister Abby’s “baby” and they spent thousands of hours playing together. His older brother Grant was forever his hero and they found lots to laugh about together. He attended Mary Blair Elementary, Conrad Ball Middle School, Resurrection Christian School, and graduated from Mountain View High School in 2014.

Soon after graduation, Reed pursued his vocation in HVAC and quickly became a top-performing technician. It wasn’t long before he was promoted to Design Consultant for Allen Service. Reed excelled in his profession. He was an example to all he worked with and a favorite of his clients.

Never one to be bored, Reed had many interests and hobbies, including woodworking, mountain biking, target practice, cars, working out, grilling, hanging out with friends, off-roading, spending time in the mountains, and loving his family. But Reed’s greatest love was Krysta and their dog, Bentley, who was the best trained and most loved dog in the world.

Reed’s family is heartbroken that we will never have another day to see his bright smile and feel his love. We will miss his Instagram stories and off-the-chart positive attitude. We will miss his tender listening ear, his calls to just catch up, and all the times we treasured together.

He is survived by his mother, Christine Yount Jones; stepfather, Ray Jones; his brother’s family: Grant Yount, Bri, Thomas, Evie, and Maddie; his sister’s family: Abby Arinder, Devin, and Eden; and his two stepsisters Callie and Shannon Jones. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael. We, along with numerous family members and friends, grieve his passing deeply.

Services will be Monday, July 18, at 1:00 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd in Loveland. In lieu of flowers, we ask for a donation to the heroic Alpine Rescue Team who spent many hours on that mountain with Krysta and Reed.
