Peggy Sue Jesson, 82, died peacefully surrounded by family at home in Loveland, Colorado on February 6, 2021. She was born September 23, 1938 in Paris, Texas to Ellie and Oscar Jackson and grew up in Antlers, Oklahoma where she met the love of her life, Bob. They lived in Sterling, Colorado for 35 years where they raised their family. From there Bob & Peggy moved to Fort Collins, Colorado and “wintered” in Sun City, Arizona. Married for 63 years, they enjoyed adventures together which included traveling to many countries, all 50 states and countless cruises.
Peggy was an elementary school teacher, member of Alpha Delta Kappa and PEO. She was active in her church, loved playing the piano, participating in Bible studies, exercising, playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends.
After suffering a massive stroke at age 47 which left her paralyzed on the right side and speechless, she defied all odds with determination, grit, and faith. She learned how to walk, talk and do things with her left side. With Bob as her side kick, nothing could stop her from enjoying life after her stroke. Over the years she inspired so many people with her laughter, positivity, and ability to “bloom where planted.” Peggy’s priority was serving God and loving people well. She became the hands and feet of Jesus valuing family and friendships, even reaching out to complete strangers. Through all her disabilities and life challenges, she never complained or felt sorry for herself. Instead, her focus was on all the GOOD in her life.
Peggy Sue is survived by her husband, Bob, and three daughters: Karri (Don) Ham of Ft. Collins, CO, Kim Wells of Ft. Collins, CO, and Kathy (Mark) Rueb of Scottsbluff, NE; grandchildren: Kara (Landon) Hoover, Kayla (Jeff) Rodriguez; Jared Ham; Jason (Paige) Hutt, Tyler Wells; Ashley (Kyle) Capoun and Katie (Cole) Chvatal; along with five great grandchildren, her sister, Martha Ann Bloodworth of Hugo, OK and brother in law, Bill Jesson of Sun City, AZ; and nieces/nephews. Her family knows the blessing of her life legacy.
Because of Covid, we will have her service in late spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested for Young Life of Ft. Collins, CO or Goodland Academy in Hugo, Oklahoma in care of Allnutt Funeral Home, 2100 North Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80538.
