Norm graduated from Loveland High School in 1954. He was a member of the National Future Farmers of America, participated in the school choir and lettered in football. He attended Colorado A&M on a joint honor scholarship before joining the Navy in 1955. During his 4 years in the service, Norm was an aerial photographer and graduated top in his class in Naval school out of 347 students. Norm’s working career included employment with the Railroad Express Depot in Loveland, REA Express in Loveland and as a Master Honda Technician at Markley Motors in Fort Collins for 26 years before retiring in 2002. Norm also co-owned Ramsey Import Auto Service in Loveland with his son, Clint, for 9 years post-retirement.
In 1966, Norm met Diane Pape on a mixed-doubles bowling league in Loveland, CO. They married the following year on July 9 in Stamford, NE. Norm and Diane were blessed with 4 children-Kimberly, Clinton, Jenelle & Angela. They raised their children in Loveland, CO and were very active in the church community. Norm enjoyed gardening, woodworking & spending time with friends and family. Norm loved his grandchildren & great grandson very much and enjoyed gathering family together at every possible opportunity.
Norm is survived by his loving wife Diane Ramsey of Loveland, CO; daughter-Kimberly Ramsey of Loveland, CO; son-Clint Ramsey & wife Christina of Orchard Park, NY; daughter-Jenelle Ramsey & husband Richard Nunez of Fort Collins, CO; daughter-Angela Paup & husband Brandon of Conifer, CO; sister-Karen Ramsey & wife Jane Power of Seattle, WA; 18 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson & numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents William & Edna Ramsey; brothers-Larry & Ronald Ramsey.
A celebration of Norm’s life will be held at The Strauss Cabin Farm House on September 23rd, 2023 at 2:00 pm. 5236 Strauss Cabin Rd, Fort Collins, Colorado
