Leone Mildred (Snider) Tapey age 93 entered into heaven on Thursday, January 25, 2024. She was born on October 4,1930, in Macoun, Saskatchewan, Canada, the 8th of fifteen children born to Fred and Mary Snider. Her early years were spent helping on the family farm until she was old enough to take a job in town at the general store. She moved to the coast to live with her brothers and sisters for a time but returned to Saskatchewan to complete a course in bookkeeping. On a trip to Illinois to visit her older sister, Evelyn, she decided to stay in the States where she met her future spouse, Paul Tapey, a seminary student, at the bookstore where they both worked. Paul and Lee were married on Oct 15th,1960. In addition to being a mother and bookkeeper, Lee served faithfully alongside Paul at churches in Ellicott/Rush, Boulder, Pueblo, Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, Utah before retiring to Grand Junction and finally moving to Northern Colorado to be nearer their children and grandchildren. Lee is survived by her spouse of 63 years, Paul, her daughters Melody Nelson (Dan), Robin Storm (Jeff), grandchildren Annie Hennig (Ryan), Caitlin Nelson, Jenny Engel (David), Cody Storm, Savannah Tomassi (Travis) and great grandchildren Jude and Kai Hennig and Aria Tomassi. She is also survived by sisters, Elda, Alice, Joyce, Carol (Al) & brother Wilbur sisters in law, Deloris, Cathy, and Thelma & brothers in law, Cecil, David, Harold, and Al as well as many nieces & nephews and their families.
