Lara was born to Rufus and Judy Crow in Fort Knox, Kentucky on February 1st, 1967, but spent many of her formative years in Southern California.
She graduated from San Diego State University in 1990, maintaining her academic passion for the Spanish language and culture throughout her life. Upon graduation, Lara married her college sweetheart Darren. They were blessed with a beautiful, loving relationship grounded in their passion for the Gospel. They were married for 31 years.
Lara was a very present and devoted mother to her three daughters whom she taught at home through their elementary years. As they grew into adults, she happily transitioned into the role of mentor and friend.
For the past 14 years, Lara and Darren lived in Loveland, Colorado, where Lara worked as a Spanish teacher at New Vision Charter and Mountain View High School. Her passion for her students and the language was evident to anyone who knew her.
Along with her family and her faith, Lara loved alpine sunrises, afternoon runs, California wines, and dancing in the kitchen. Lara lived an amazing life and was an inspiring, gracious person. She brought so much joy in this world.
Lara is survived by her husband Darren; daughters Sara, Kat, and Renee; her older sister Leslie (Alan) Hines; younger brother Rufus (Roxana) Crow; and her six nieces and nephews. Lara is preceded in death by her father, Rufus Crow.
Lara Demaree will have a memorial service at Christ Community Church (1301 15th St., Greeley, CO 80631) on Monday, August 16th at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Brain Tumor Association.
