Dorothy was born in Pleasanton, NE. August 30, 1919, to Rudolph and Isadore Kirschner. In 1932 they moved to Otis, CO. and later moved to Haxtun, CO. where she graduated from Haxtun High School in 1938. After moving back to Otis she married Mike Kuntz on February 17, 1942. Living in Otis they did custom farming for neighbors. They later bought a farm in Haxtun. In 1952, they built a new home on the farm where they raised five children, Robert, Edwin, Donna, Beverly, and Denise.
Dorothy enjoyed sewing for her family. She was n a sewing club and later took a sewing course at NJC. Along with sewing, she loved cooking knitting crocheting, canning food, and gardening. She was on a bowling team in Haxtun. She and Mike were very active in the Christ the King Catholic Church. She played softball on the Highland Center School team and loved to watch the Colorado Rockies. Announcing her 100th birthday at the Rockies game made her day. She truly believed that working hard on the farm kept her healthy.
