Donald William Dixon, 87, passed away March 20, 2025 in Longmont, CO. He was born July 5,1937 in Fort Collins, CO to William (Bill) Dixon and Bea Carter Dixon. After high school, Don joined the Navy for 4 years as a machinist's mate, crossing the equator and the arctic circle.
After discharge from the Navy, Don met the love of his life, Shirley, when she asked him to dance. He was too embarrassed to ask her as he couldn't dance. Two months later, they married on October 3, 1959. They were married for 50 years. Don and Shirley had two children; Cindy and Bob.
Don spent most of his life in the heating and air conditioning business. He started as an apprentice at Gibson Heating in Loveland, CO, ultimately becoming a part owner.
Don's passions were golf, bowling and, most of all, cars. T-Birds were his favorite. He personalized every car he owned and they were always immaculate.
In 2019 Don moved to Longmont, CO to live with his son Bob.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Dixon and his beloved wife Shirley. He is survived by daughter Cindy of Milliken, CO, son Bob (Gretchen) of Longmont, CO, grandchildren Michelle Poeschl (Morgan), Marie Clayburn (Kyle), Paige Dixon Halliday (John), Laura Dixon, Amanda Dixon and 3 great grandchildren.
