David Dravland, a son of Alvin and Clarice (Bergh). Dravland was born on October 30, 1962 in Bottineau, North Dakota. David grew up on a family farm. By participating in the many daily tasks, he developed a hard and earnest work ethic. He first worked with the Olin Corporation in North Dakota. He studied at Wahpeton State School of Science ultimately making a career as an electrician in Tucson, Arizona (Gamble Electric), San Diego, California, and for the last two decades with Gregory Electric here in Loveland, Colorado.
David was an active outdoors man. He hiked and skied hunted and fished, cycled and motorcycled. David also loved the arts and was an avid reader and film and music lover. David played a mean game of scrabble. He had a green thumb. He inherited his grandmother’s Christmas cactus many years ago and it is still thriving today.
David married Sylvia in 1997. Although the marriage ended, they remained close and co-parented their daughter Ariana. Ari was a great joy for David. Her tender, gentle way was like his own. David was a very generous son both personally and materially. He had a fine sense of humor.
He survived by one brother, Paul Dravland of Carbury, North Dakota; one sister, Sara (Bryon) Gunsch of Minneapolis, Minnesota and one niece, Lily of Minneapolis and friend Shira of Loveland, Colorado. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Faith and daughter Ari.
