Born Beth Vinkemulder on November 15th, 1963, in Galesburg, Michigan to Donald and Rosemary Vinkemulder, she was the oldest of 3 children. Beth moved to Austin, TX in 1980 to attend the University of Texas where she met her future husband, Robert Hurley. They were married December 6th, 1988, and lived in Austin until they relocated to Fort Collins, CO in 1991. Their son Ryan was born in 1993 and they moved to Berthoud, CO in 2022.
A dedicated scientist, Beth worked at Corgenix Medical for more than 25 years performing many different jobs and titles. Beth dedicated her life to her family, church, and to the children’s ministry at Grace Place Church in Berthoud. She was known for her kindness, joy, selflessness, strength, incredible work ethic, and a love for others that came from Jesus. Her faith was unshakable throughout her illness and an inspiration to family, friends, and many of the medical and hospital staff that she encountered on that journey.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert, of Berthoud, CO; her son, Ryan Hurley (Taylor) of Olathe, KS.; her brothers Bruce Vinkemulder (Ana) of Fort Collins, CO and Brian Vinkemulder (Mia) of Redmond, WA. She was also dearly loved by her many in laws, nephews, and nieces. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Donald and Rosemary Vinkemulder.
A celebration of Beth’s life and faith will be held at Grace Place Church in Berthoud, Colorado, on Saturday, January 18th at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Compassion International in her memory.
