Meade, William J. "Bill" Sr., 89, of Louisville, passed away on July 14, 2014. Bill was born on December 12, 1924 in Catlettsburg, KY to the late Thomas and Goldie Meade. He served in the Navy during WWII. He worked for and retired from General Electric Company in Louisville. Bill was a member of West Broadway Baptist Church. He loved music and served as a part-time minister of music for numerous churches in Louisville.
Preceding him in death was his loving wife of 67 years, Hilda June Meade.
He is survived by his children, Babs Meade Brooks (Joe), Karen Meade Sales (Kenny), Deborah Meade McWilliams (Scott), and William J. Meade Jr. (Syndi); 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; caregivers DG Bullock and Brandy Roper; as well as loyal friends, Chris Stewart, Billy Pullen, and Daryl McNally.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at noon at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation at 11 am until service time on Friday. Entombment at Evergreen Cemetery.
