William Faulkner

On Tuesday November 22, 2022 the spirit of William Joseph Faulkner was called from above. William was the first born of Joseph R. Faulkner and Barbara A. Bratcher of Indiana. He attended and graduated from Flaget High School in Louisville Kentucky. He coached little league baseball and youth basketball. He was employed by General Electric for 36 years and retired from there in 2006.

He was an avid bowler and played in the General Electric bowling leagues. He was a distinguished antique buyer and restorer. He took pride in being knowledgeable and up to date on current topics.

William was a loving and protecting husband, as well as a loving and free hearted father. His grandchildren cherished their pawpa. Whatever they asked for he gave.

William married Barbara Higgins Unseld in 1990, they were married 32 plus years. They became a blended family, having one daughter and three sons. He loved all his children all the same.

William is preceded in death by his parents.

Survived by his wife, Barbara Unseld Faulkner. Children: Michael Faulkner, Jennowan Labrada Ferrera, Brian Faulkner (Rachel), Robert Unseld Jr. (Elizabeth), and 8 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Deborah Martel (Michael), Diane Mattingly, Connie Roudenbush (Terry), Joseph Faulkner (Beth), Sheryl Castell (Robert), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and co-workers.

A memorial service in William's honor will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218 on Saturday December 10, 2022 at 11AM.
