He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of The Greater Louisville Bowling Hall of Fame, an Army veteran of WWII, and a former manager of Vernon Lanes.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Norma Perryman Byron; children, Jacque Mudd(Joe), Janice Hellmann(George), Sharon Simpson(Joe), and William Byron, Jr.(Kathy); 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Byron(Dorothy); and sister, Margie Martin.
A funeral mass will be held at noon Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1406 E. Washington Louisville, KY 40206, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8pm Wednesday at Arch L. Heady & Son-Cralle Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2428 Frankfort Ave Louisville, KY 40206.
