Downing, Wayne, 83, passed away in Louisville, Kentucky on February 10, 2015. Wayne was born and raised in Monroe County. He was a loving and kind hearted man. Wayne served in the Army during the Korean War and retired from GE. He was an avid UofK fan.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harry, T.J., Leonard, and Irene.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 52 years, Helen; brother, Billy (Marcella); and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday at 2 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will also be on Friday from 11am until the time of service. Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Wayne's name to Hosparus.
