Wannie was a Army veteran for the Kentucky National Guard.
He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Wannie retired from Fourth Avenue Corporation.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Emma Davenport; and brother, Sammy Davenport.
Wannie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Hogan Davenport; children, Mike Davenport, Diana L. Blevins (Jimmy), and Carla Tanner (Roy); grandchildren, Brittany (Justin), Holly, Olivia, Zach, Josh, Hannah, Jake, and Jude; great-grandchild, Mason; siblings, Wayne and Larry Davenport; sister-in-law, Aline VanMeter; brother-in-law, James Hogan (Sibil); and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service to honor the life of Wannie will be noon on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy, with interment follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8pm on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital of Hosparus.
