Wanda Elizabeth Nelson, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday. She was the former Wanda Roskosky, a homemaker who also worked at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant during World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, one sister, and three brothers.
She is survived by her son, Edward (Janet), three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was a fantastic cook until dementia robbed her of her ability to bake her world famous chocolate cookies and prune cake. She was resilient and her enduring Methodist faith nursed her through many of life’s setbacks. Her family knows she is reunited with her sweetie, and they are finally sitting together again, holding hands, watching Lawrence Welk, and eating popcorn
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday at Arch L. Heady and Son Southern Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Louisville, Kentucky 40215.
