She was a retired secretary for E & H Electric, an employee of Johnson Controls, and a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roma and Mary Blanton; brothers, James, Charles, Paul and Gerald Blanton; and a sister, Mary Frances Sharp.
Survivors include her son Darren Lukeas (Missy); 3 grandchildren, Eric, Alex, and Emily; a sister, Martha Brooks (Jerry); brothers, Kenneth (Chris), Robert (Sheryl), Larry (Karen), David, and Ronnie (Kathy) Blanton; 31 nieces and nephews; 45 ½ great nieces and nephews; 4 great-great nieces and nephews; and dear friends Sharon Elias (Jim) and Noma Ashworth (Chuck).
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Tuesday.
