Virginia was born in Louisville on September 16, 1927 to Henry Thomas and Cora Botts Larimore. She is the youngest of 3 daughters and the 3 sisters have always been great sisters and best friends.
She married Lloyd Fry in 1947. They made their home in Louisville, where they celebrated 46 years of marriage until Lloyd died in 1993.
A lifelong member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, she and Lloyd raised their 3 children there. Virginia loved her family of faith and served her church faithfully all of her life. She was a wonderful and inspiring example to her children and grandchildren of a faith centered life.
Virginia was a co-owner of two retail stores in Louisville, Ginna’s and Gingerbread. She loved working in the stores and worked tirelessly to make others look and feel good in new clothes. She was active in the business organization Executive Women International for many years. She organized and provided clothing for countless fashion shows over 25+ years supporting many charitable organizations.
Always kind, thoughtful and generous, Virginia loved life. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing and creating lovely, fun jewelry. She was always busy knitting something for someone else. She was always up for going and doing, with a smile and no complaints. Virginia was interested in everything her family was doing and loved spending time with each and every one.
This past Christmas she shopped for and had gifts for her entire family including ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Knowing her strength and energy were running out, she diligently shopped until everyone had a present from her. We had a wonderful Christmas season together.
Virginia was preceded in death by her loving parents and husband, Lloyd Fry.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ginger Arnold (David), Linda Mulloy (Mark), Lloyd D. Fry, Jr.; grandchildren, Josh Arnold (Sandra), Ben Arnold (Elissa), Andrew Arnold, Ginnie Meredith (Mark), Emily Prather (Stephen), Rachel, Rebekah, and Abigail Mulloy, Lloyd “ Dee” Fry III (Jessica) and Michelle Fry; her dear sisters, Nancy Stonesifer and Sue Catlin and 13 great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to all the caregivers from Helping Hands Companion Care; Hosparus, and to everyone, who prayed, visited, sent cards, flowers and delicious food throughout this time.
Contributions in Virginia’s memory to Crescent Hill Baptist Church are most appreciated and will be used thoughtfully and wisely.
