Viola Ruth "Ruthie" Edwards

Ruth is preceded by her husband, Raymond Theodore “Ted” Edwards; parents; sister, Patricia Grether and brother, Paul Davidson. She was a lifelong member of East Audubon Baptist Church. Ruth was a former bookkeeper for Drs. Chester Davidson, Yusk and Forrest. Her hobbies included square dancing, traveling and crocheting. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Ruth had many accomplishments in her lifetime but her greatest legacy was the love of her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her seven children, Judy (Randy) Embry, Jeanne (Sandy) Morris, Ray (Joy) Edwards Jr., Lon (Kathy) Edwards, Don (Sheri) Edwards, Michael (Sonja) Edwards, and Mark (Beverly) Edwards; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sisters in-law, Joyce Edwards and Imogene Perry and many loving nieces & nephews and dear friends.

The family expresses deep appreciation to the Baptist Hospital ICU and Palliative Center and especially Dr. Brandon Kellie and staff for the compassionate care of our mother.

Visitation will take place from 3-8pm Sunday, August 5th at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service will start at 10am on Monday, August 6th at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Baptist Foundation of Louisville in Ruth’s name.
