Twyla Lee Gollar age 70, our beloved wife, mom and grandma peacefully left this world November 1, 2022, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home. She fought that damn cancer for five plus years. It did not win, Twyla will still be in our hearts forever. She was born October 28, 1952 to the late Bill and Phyllis (Fuller) Stoltz. Her mother-in-law Doris Cornelius also preceded her in passing.
Twyla was a 1970 graduate of Angela Merici High School. She worked as a teller at National City Bank and a black jack dealer for Caesars Southern Indiana. She kept books for her and her husband’s trucking business. Twyla delivered meals and donated blood to give back to her community. She loved going to SEC tournaments no matter where they were. She was always ready for a party, with her favorite drink, Jack and Diet tall. Twyla enjoyed casinos especially slots and video poker. She looked forward to hosting Derby parties and Thanksgiving in the barn. She loved the home that she and Brian built, and was proud of her beautiful yard that she loved to mow. She loved the “get togethers” with her girlfriends, and the Stoltz family gatherings with her siblings and their children. The most important time in her life was spending time with her best friend and husband, Brian. He always told her, Twyla, “You’re the best”, she always will be. Becoming Grandma was what she was most proud of. She loved being involved with her granddaughters’ sports teams, school activities, RV trips, taking them shopping, and having parties at her pool. We love you Stoltz-O, Grandma Spills, and G-Money.
Here to carry on her memory is her husband Brian Gollar, children, Amy Krieg, Heather Houston (Randy), Brian Lee Gollar, Jr. (Monica), grandchildren, Morgan, Hailey, Reese, Christian, Harper, and Kinley. Siblings, Robin Milliner (Keith), Michael Stoltz (Terri), Timothy Stoltz (Susan) and Kevin Stoltz (DeeDee) and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to be made to Mercy Academy, 5801 Fegenbush Lane, Louisville, KY 40228. An annual scholarship will be created in Twyla’s memory.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 9, 2022 from 1-8PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218.
