Tom Dickert, 66, of Louisville, passed away suddenly on October 15, 2014. He served in the United States Air Force as an M.P. and worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for over forty years, where he was loved and respected by his co-workers. He was a loving, gentle husband and father whose quiet presence touched all who knew him.
Tom was a sports fan and especially loved playing club tennis, where he met his wife Therese. He also loved playing golf with Therese and his son, Ethan, with whom he enjoyed other hobbies. Tom often spoke lovingly of his two daughters and grandchildren who live out of state.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Thomas Dickert Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Therese Dickert, his beloved son and daughters, Ethan Dickert, Nicci Dickert Gallentine, and Tara Dickert; siblings Penny Morris, Kathy McNutt and Jake Dickert; and grandchildren Cameron and Jenna Gallentine.
A private family celebration of Tom's life will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with inurnment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
