Thomas "Tom" H. Metcalfe

Thomas “Tom” H. Metcalfe Jr., 82, of Louisville went to his heavenly home on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Tom was born on February 12, 1933 to the late Thomas H. Sr. and Elizabeth Metcalfe. He was a 1949 ½ graduate of Manual High School and a University of Louisville Speed Scientific School graduate. Tom retired after 30 years with Jeffboat as an electrical engineer. He was a member of King Louie’s Knights Car Club, an avid watcher of automotive racing and a Christian by faith. Most importantly, Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Metcalfe.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Gladys Jean Geoghegan Metcalfe, his children, Eric (Michele) Metcalfe and Scott Metcalfe, grandchildren; Christopher Flynn, Anna and Sara, his brother, Richard Metcalfe (Yvonne) of NC and a sister, Betty Rudolph, sister-in-laws; Carolyn Metcalfe, Marie Van Meter, and Linda Geoghegan, brother-in-laws; Marshall Geoghegan (Janice) and Michael Geoghegan, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be conducted Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10 am in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kosair Children’s Hospital.
