Thomas P. Mitchell

He was born October 7, 1928 in Louisville, KY to the late Rosa Barbara Fromme and the late Thomas Louis Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years the late Lovise “Love” Mitchell, his 3 sisters and his brother.

Thomas is survived by daughter, Linda Jenell George; son-in-law, Gary George; grandchildren, Laurie and Michael George; great-grandsons Brandon George and Michael George, and a great-great-granddaughter Riley George.

He retired from GE in 1992 where he worked as a Designer/Draftsman. Thomas was a deacon at South Watterson Trail Baptist Church until 2005 when he and Lovise moved to Brownsburg, Indiana. He was also a member of The Aero Club at Bowman Field until his move out of state.

While “Papa Tom” will be dearly missed by his family, we feel very blessed to have had him in our lives.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be conducted Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
