Tom was an electrician who worked and retired from IBEW Local 369 with over 30 years of service. He also retired from the City of Louisville in electrical maintenance. Tom was a US Army veteran having received the National Defense Service Metal. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Louisville.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: William Bruce Mattingly and David Miles Mattingly, one grandson, Alexander Bryce Mattingly, two nieces: Jordan Taylor Mattingly and Jo Johnson Mattingly.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Jean Jewell Mattingly, one son, Matthew Thomas Mattingly (Christy), two daughters: Jill Marie Combs and Jenny Lynn Clendenen, two brothers, John D. Mattingly (Joyce) and Curtis C. Mattingly (Janie), one sister, Sr. Lelia (Dee) Mattingly, MM., one sister-in-law, Mary Beth Mattingly, and 7 grandchildren, Logan, Sara Grace, Caroline, Abigail Mattingly, Bailey and Conley Combs, and Brady Clendenen, mother-in-law, Geneva Jewell and sister-in-law, Deborah Jewell Powell as well as numerous extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to St Jude or Home of the Innocent.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 10am at St. Bernard Church, 7500 Tangelo Drive.
