Dr. Theodore Wallace Hahn

Dr. Theodore Wallace Hahn, 86, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home in Boca Raton, FL. Known to family and friends as Wallace or Wally, he was born in Kentucky on February 15, 1927.

Wallace proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II as a Pharmacist’s Mate. Upon Honorable Discharge, he married the love of his life, Virginia(“Puff”) Kennedy. Wallace and Virginia moved to South Florida in 1954 to complete his internship at the University of Miami. He subsequently completed his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Miami. Dr. Hahn opened medical offices in Pompano Beach and Boca Raton. He served as Chief of Staff at Imperial Point Hospitals in Broward County. He also served as Director of the Medical Foundation of South Florida and as President of the Florida Society of Otolaryngology. He was a chairman for the Advisory Council to Secretary HRS, State of Florida and the proud recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Language Speech & Hearing Assoc. In 1988, he was honored as “Physician of the Year” for his many years of dedicated service & achievement to the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck surgeons of the state of Florida.

Dr. Hahn was preceded in death this past August by his beloved wife of 59 years, Virginia “Puff” Hahn; son Keith W. Hahn, MD passed away in 2003. He is survived by devoted daughters Caroline Hahn White, and Martha Hahn Fournier, MD and cherished grandchildren: Morgan, Courtney & McKenzie White; Michele, George & Nicholas Fournier; and Emily, Matthew & Paul Hahn. Dr. Hahn was a man who left a legacy to his family on the values of education, integrity, and compassion; he will be deeply missed.

Graveside services will take place at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, November 23rd at Cave Hill Cemetery, please meet inside the Broadway gates at 2:20 pm.
