Sylvia Ann Zirnheld, 79, of Louisville passed away Monday, April 27, 2015. Sylvia was a woman of strong faith; who loved and served the Lord. She was a caregiver to so many and lived by the phrase, “love your neighbor as yourself”. Sylvia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she loved dancing, bowling, planning trips, traveling and entertaining family and friends. She worked as a cashier in the retail business for years and enjoyed being a nanny to Nathan and Jake. One of the greatest gifts you can share is the gift of time and Sylvia gave her time willingly to family, friends and strangers.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ray Zirnheld, her parents, Lawton and Nettie Sargent, and eight siblings.
Sylvia is survived by her children: Margie Aspatore (Joe), Becky (Joe), Rick (Nancy) Ron (Lisa); grandchildren: Kory, Tracy, Liz, Shawn, Jody, Mary, Sam, Cory and Ryan; and six great-grandchildren. She is blessed to have had her Zirnheld family who provided much love and support over the years; she is also survived by many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Sylvia’s Life will take place at noon on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 and after 9 a.m. on the day of the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or do a good deed in memory of Sylvia.
