She was a retired teacher and administrator for JCPS, a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and a volunteer for Wayside Christian Mission. She was a member of Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, Louisville Visual Arts Association, and Louisville Water Color Society. For a number of years, she operated her art studio at the Mellwood Art Center.
Survivors include a brother, Tony Palaisa (Marsha); sisters, Phyllis Risch (Dan), Melanie Palaisa, Betsy Wilson (Ted), and Katie Heavrin (David); nieces and nephews, Suzanne, Emily, Alec, Gina, Anna, and Audrey; and numerous cousins.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 Friday at St. Martin of Tours, 639 S. Shelby St., followed by burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy.
