Sonya Renee' Bailey

Sonya Bailey, 51, passed away at her home December 1st surrounded by her children and loved ones. Born in Louisville, KY on June 2nd, 1972 she was the daughter of Lonnie Bailey and Linda Fields. Sonya attended multiple universities culminating into her receiving her master’s degree in nursing from Bellarmine University.

Sonya was heavily involved in her work as a nurse manager, loved and cherished all of her nurses who became lifelong friends that she made along the way. Sonya was also a chairman on the board for the daisy foundation which she deeply cherished. She belonged to the Southeast Christian church “Shelbyville campus” Where she loved all her friends in the women’s group.

Sonya is survived by her parents, Lonnie Bailey and Linda Fields; Sister, Kimberly Bailey; Four children, Nicholas Miller (Brittney), Zachary Miller, Dylan Miller (Kayla), Kayley Miller; Four Grandchildren who she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her stepmother, Denise Bailey.

Visitation Services will be held on December 8th from 3-8pm. Funeral service will be held at 12pm December 9th. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her honor to the WHAS Crusade for Children and/or the daisy foundation.
